Gift Card Certificates
The days of the traditional gift certificate are over. As are the days of giving cash as a gift. Gift card certificates are the new trend. There are several reasons for this. One is because gift certificates are large and may not fit in a wallet. They are easy to lose and only redeemable at the store from which they were purchased. Some people forget they have them, and the certificates expire without ever being used. And of course there are also downsides to giving cash as a gift.
Cash can be lost or stolen. If it is, you could call the police but good luck getting your money back. A much better option is a gift card from a major credit card company or bank. They can be used just like cash at a variety of locations but can be easily replaced if lost or stolen. There should be a customer service number on the back of every gift card. Write it down and keep it in a safe location at home in case you ever do lose the card. The company can cancel the card and issue a new one.
Gift cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo are wonderful for all ages and occasions. If you are looking for the perfect gift for your child or teen, try a gift card. You get to take them shopping and they can pick out whatever they want. It also teaches them about the value of money. And, gift cards can be reloaded and reused which makes them practical. Speaking of practical, the uses for a gift card are almost unlimited. A Visa gift card, for example, could be used at many places like gas stations, restaurants, stores, online merchants and so many more.
Gift card certificates can be purchased at your favorite store or ordered online. If you want a bank gift card you can buy them from your local financial institution. Often these cards can be personalized in some way. If you are buying one for someone who enjoys opening presents, wrap it up in a decorative box. A handwritten note or card is always a nice touch, sure to be appreciated. Anyone would love getting a gift card as a gift. Whether you are shopping for a holiday, birthday or just because you cannot go wrong with one of these cards.
